Interactive Language Arts

Hey Guys, ( never refer to your students as "you guys")

Language Arts has so many fun teaching topics. For example, capitalization, compound words, grammar, punctuation, poetry, sight words, parts of speech, and many more other fun things every human must know. I found an interactive website that can work with the students. This way if a student is having trouble on one of the above that can get additional help. Teachers can multitask and put a child on a computer, and help other children with other necessary tasks.

Grammar Prablems

Dear Grammar,

I dislike you very much. You have been horrible to me, and I can't stand you. So I am making a change in my life. I have found some websites to help me with my horrendous grammar problems. I am letting the world know about the websites, and I am going to figure out why I add commas everywhere. Or wait is that punctuation, is punctuation a part of grammar?
Sincerely every 4th grader.

Clean up your grammar games!

Includes quizzes and worksheets on grammar.

This was definitely me when I was younger. This is still me sometimes, but I am trying to get better as well. Check out the above websites for grammar help!

Yahoo Homework Help

Homework Lovers,

Once you get older (at least in my case), you feel like a lot of homework that was given was actually helpful. Now in college, homework is rarely give, you just come in and take the test. Homework can help be a study guide for tests. Sadly, I do miss homework my old pal. Anyways, Yahoo offers some interactive videos to help students with their homework! I think this is a great idea for kids who are struggling and need the extra help. This way if the teacher or parents can not assist them, they have another opportunity.

National Geographic Little Kids

Historians,

Of course everyone loves language arts (my major), but you have to keep some room for a history lesson! What better way to involve history than the National Geographic Little Kids website. It's filled with history facts, and animals. This website is geared towards children five and under, so it should satisfy Preschool and Kindergartners!

This website has games separated by grades, and is very organized.

This website includes all the subjects, and goes from K-8th grade!

Edmodo

Helllo Future Brilliant Teachers,

In my current field placement at Roosevelt Elementary School my teacher is always using this website called Edmodo. It's like Facebook for kids, but very secure. Teachers' can restrict who enters the group. The teacher can have students upload writing assignments, post grades, check progression, and give medals. I have been using it to interact with the students, and I can even show them my mood. Check it out!
